Cardigan Living for Fall

From Cardigans to scarves, Fall is upon us! Now that Hurricane Harvey Recovery efforts are in place (more on that in a later post) I have been letting myself have some time to indulge in New York Fashion Week fabulousness. Seeing all my fellow blogger babes in the big apple enjoying even more fall weather than we currently have here in Houston just gives me all the feels.

Cardigans are my jam for fall, and I think they should be yours too. They give you that extra statement with added comfort. So it’s a Win Win all the way around. You will be noticing more and more of these here on the blog as we enter into October. I’ll give you a sneak peak… I just snagged the FAVORITE TopShop cardigan from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, but it’s the dupe version that is under $25. I will be styling it soon for you so be sure to check back in the coming weeks. Now back to this beauty, it comes in 5 other great colors if you want to not be so spicy in this red number. It’s currently under $70 and great for pairing with a long sleeve tee like I did here for added warmth, or even with a great cami for those sunny days. Houston’s Fall/Winter weather tends to be on the light side so I have been stalking up on pieces that are great for our falls, but can be layered for those colder states as well. (For sizing reference: size one size down)

1st Year of Blogging & a BIG Thank You

It’s been a year! I can finally say Happy Blogiversary to Gracefully Sassy. NONE of this would have been possible without you. I am more thankful than I could ever say for each and everyone of your support. Starting my blog was a long time goal/dream of mine. I started this little space of glitter to share my life through fashion with you. I have always felt that if I help just one person, even in some small way, then it was ALL worth it!

To be honest, I am shocked at how many people enjoy this little blog of mine. My grammer is, well… not the top of the English charts. I try to write like I talk so that you really feel like we’re having a verbal conversation. If you have met me then you know, I am a talker! And I am a passionate person so when I am excited about something I am talking ninety miles a minute with my hands flaring and more facial expressions than most people use in a month. I do all this in a matter of minutes, haha! I also learn from you. There are many things I would have not known without ever starting this blog. So again, THANK YOU! Below are three things I have learned in this first year that I feel like were the big lessons learned.

Be yourself. Find your niche, and stay true to that! It’s easy to want to mimic the other more successful bloggers, but you are the only you there ever was and that is what you need to highlight. This is something that goes for everyone in everyday life, not just blogger world.
PATIENCE is a VIRTUE. Hahaha, I laugh just typing that. I am a pretty impatient person which is not beneficial in the blogging world. But, I am learning that this is a marathon and not a sprint. And even more so when I get amazing feedback from you when you absolutely love the purchase you received from a look I posted on. Or you felt like you’re not alone in the struggle you face when I get all sorts of personal. YOU make blogging worth it, THANK YOU.
Budget Better Babe! Story of my life = blowing a budget. I am getting better, so patting myself on the back for that. With that being said, I still have a long way to go. Being a Fashion & Lifestyle Blogger makes it very difficult not to just go buck wild snatching all the latest trends and styling them for your viewing pleasure here on the blog. I get so excited to show you things and then realize… I have a mortgage payment and have to eat sooooo, shoes and that fab suede motorcycle jacket can just stay at the store. Please, Please know that my intentions are good but, I haven’t won the lottery so I’ll be helping you style all your closet pieces to have you being a fashionista through ALL seasons.

And with me still sending you all the love for your support, It would mean so much that you let me know what you would like to see more of AND less of here over this next year. I am allllllll ears so send ’em babe! I promise to giveback to you for your help this coming Holiday season in a wonderful way *hint- giveaways*.

Neutral Statement Earrings with Dandelion Leather Company

Ooooooh can you feel the cold crisp air that will be upon us (fingers crossed) here soon in the next few months?! If you’re a fellow southern gal, specifically Houston Babes you will completely agree with me when I saw I AM READY FOR FALL. This heat is intense, and that’s putting it lightly. Just hang in there because we are almost done with the dreaded month of August. We will be sipping pumpkin spice everything, while be basic as ever before ya even know it 😉

I have a bad havbit of flocking towards strictyly all black jumpsuits, but this baby screamed my name when out shopping one day. It has so much life in its stripes and colors. This is towards the end of my summer looks, and what better than a striped jumpsuit that you can easily transition into fall with a cute blazer?! This jumpsuit has sold out, and I would tell you about the ability you have to purchase it from my Poshmark account ( @skguidry ) but it sold so quickly. I wouldn’t let you down, I have linked other favorite striped jumpsuits for you above that are all under $100. These are great for pieces to wear now and later!

Polka Dot Top + GIVEAWAY

This month marks my first year of blogging, and I thought what better way to say THANK YOU for all your continued support than to do a few giveaways for you this month (scroll to the end of this post for all the entry information).

And I couldn’t just stop there! I had to share this too flipping cute polka dot top with you. Zara knew what they were dong with then designed this cute number and it’s currently under $10. If this isn’t what polka dot dreams are made of then I am not sure what is! Although online has only select sizes available I am find that the Zara stores still have many in stock and happened to be where I snagged mine from. This has become Kyle’s favorite casual date night look of mine. He says it’s fun and me. Haha, it’s very rare he actually likes some of my trendier looks. He is a tee shirt and jean shorts for my everyday look kind of hubs. No shame in his game, but I enjoy that he like this look.

Crop Tops can be a bit of an insecurity for me because I have gained weight. The gym is like a long lost friend right now, fast food is my bae, and margaritas (not skinny) are my shameful sidepiece. LOL! I am not proud of current choices in food and excise, but I am Trying to make positive changes. I love this polka dot top too much to be spilling out of it in a not so flattering way. “Who run the world? GIRLS!” I am determined to be the best physical me even if it I am living on the struggle bus for a while, haha. If you want to see what new healthy choices I am implementing to fix my problem areas I will be sharing these on Instatories. I say this because if you’re attempting to do be a healthier you it may just be uplifting to know you’re not alone in your journey. And I welcome ALL your helpful tips to get my younger twenty something body back.
